Solar Lanterns

About the Solar Lanterns Program

Fewer than 20% of Kenyan  homes have access to electricity and therefore rely on fossil fuels such as kerosene, which have associated health risks along with a monetary cost. Bringing solar lanterns to communities were no electricity is available has a great impact for the student as well as the entire family and is a project focus for Kenya works.  We are bringing healthy, sustainable light, to thousands of individuals throughout Kenya.
Through this program, students now have a healthy reliable light source for studying along with their families security and monetary savings. Costs that were once incurred through their kerosene purchase can now go towards school fees, food and other goods. Please help us to continue to be "a source of light" in our partnerships throughout Kenya.
