Change a Life

Education. It is the key to eliminating gender inequality, to reducing poverty, to creating a sustainable planet, to preventing needless deaths and illness, and to fostering peace.

Sponsor a student and change a child's life. Watch that change ripple through a family, a community, a country, our world.

Change a child's life. And your own!

About Our Sponsorships

Secondary school in Kenya is the equivalent of U.S. high school, grades 9 - 12. It is not free. And while the fees would be within reach for most families in the U.S., the rate and magnitude of those living in poverty in Kenya keep far too many children from completing their basic education.

Kenya Works provides student sponsorships based on the needs and challenges that the student faces as well as their commitment to their education. Our secondary student sponsorships include:

  • School fees

  • Uniforms

  • Textbooks

  • Boarding

  • Daily meals

  • Social services

Our goal is to connect students with a single sponsor for all four years of secondary education to offer both financial support and the opportunity to meaningfully share in the child's progress. The annual fee to sponsor is $500 and can be paid annually for each of the 4 years, or monthly for 48 months. One hundred percent of your sponsorship fee goes into a unique account for your sponsored student entirely used to cover student's expenses.

On the ground, Kenya Works social workers meet regularly with students while at school and conduct annual home visits during breaks. Students correspond at least annually with their sponsor, and many sponsors correspond with the students regularly, fostering even stronger connections.

A Word from our Sponsors

ANONYMOUS

I believe that quality education opens opportunities. For this reason I have sponsored two students through Kenya Works.

These are children with the desire to learn, but not the means to pay for public schooling.

I have been to Kenya and have seen the pride of Kenya
Works scholars as well as the gratitude of their families. It is a powerful experience to know that I have made a difference in my students’ lives.
