Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH)
Every month, girls across Kenya miss up to five days of school — not because they don't want to learn, but because they don't have what they need to manage their periods safely. Kenya Works Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) is changing that. We provide adolescent girls with safe products, practical knowledge, and communities where they feel supported rather than ashamed. Because when a girl can manage her period with confidence, she stays in class, stays healthy, and stays on the path she deserves.
Makini Pad Kits
Our reusable Makini Pads kits, and period panties, provide high-quality, eco-friendly menstrual products that girls can rely on month after month. Locally made by our women-staffed production team, each kit delivers comfort and protection while creating good jobs for Kenyan women.
Puberty & Health Education
Comprehensive puberty, menstrual health, and self-esteem education gives girls the information they need to understand their bodies and advocate for their rights. When girls have accurate, shame-free information, they are better able to stay healthy, stay in school, and stay focused on their goals.
Boys as Allies
Through our Boxers for Boys initiative, we equip boys with both dignity-supporting underwear and accurate information about menstruation. Engaging boys as allies helps break stigma, foster respect, and build school and community environments where periods are normalized, not hidden.
Local Production, Global Impact
Makini products are sewn in Kenya by a skilled women-led team, turning menstrual health solutions into a source of stable income for local families. This model strengthens communities, reduces waste through reusable products, and scales impact far beyond a single distribution.

Reusable Sanitary Kit Donation Application
Apply to receive reusable sanitary kits through our donation program. Due to high demand, applications are highly competitive and are only open three times a year — in January, April, and August — for a period of two weeks. All applicants will receive feedback within two weeks after the application window closes.
