Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that has become a movement that unites us all through doing good.
Our 2020 campaign is focused on 11-year-old Jennifer, a Maasai girl who earlier this year escaped becoming a child bride because of her mother's tenacity to find an escape route; as well as the amazing work our staff and partners do providing resources and outreach even to the remote communities of Kenya; and because our strong base of donors is committed to a world of justice and opportunity for all.
In support of building opportunity for girls like Jennifer and resources for mothers like Meleso, Mary Beth Nienhaus partnered with Kenya Works to create the Mary Beth Nienhaus $50K Matching Fund Challenge, which will double your donation through the end of the year up to that amount. Ms. Nienhaus is a dedicated community volunteer and philanthropist in the Fox Cities area of Wisconsin. In 2012, she traveled to Kenya with Kenya Works' founder Mary Stusek and has seen with her own eyes the immense need for the most vulnerable.
"I’m so inspired by Meleso’s determination to protect and provide for her young daughter,” Ms. Nienhaus says. “Jennifer is on a path to creating her own future thanks to Kenya Works. When children thrive, they improve their community, their country, and the whole world. Jennifer’s life is forever changed and through Kenya Works, we are forever connected to her future. That is why I am supporting this worthwhile organization
and encouraging others to join bringing life-changing
opportunities to those who can benefit most.”
