And the community is rising as well.
Christine grew up in Kuria, one of Kenya’s most marginalized regions — a place where harmful traditions and systemic poverty prevent many girls from attending secondary school.
She remembers the moment everything shifted. When she became a Golden Eagle through Kenya Works’ Transformative Power of Education initiative, she didn’t just receive a scholarship — she stepped into a sisterhood. A group of girls in Kuria who are choosing education, choosing safety, choosing possibility. Christine’s journey is powerful.
But she’ll be the first to tell you: It’s not only her. She’s part of a growing movement of girls who are rising together and reshaping what’s possible in their communities. Girls who, when given the opportunity, say yes to education—and no to the harmful traditions that once held them back. Supported by parents and leaders trained in human rights and child protection, these girls are charting new paths for themselves—and for their communities.
This is what your support makes possible: not just one girl’s success, but a ripple of change that strengthens families, empowers peer groups, and transforms entire communities.
This season, you can Fuel Her Flight — and give more girls the chance to soar. Read more about their story now!
